Chestnut honey , with its dark color and intense flavour, is one of the most particular honeys produced .

Its aromatic and woody smell , and its less sweet taste , mean that it also blends perfectly with savory dishes, such as meats and cheeses , enhancing their flavours.

It can also be used to replace sugar in herbal teas and yoghurt , again adding an extra taste.

The consistency is quite liquid and the presence of fructose prevents it from crystallizing.

Its beneficial properties are many, very rich in vitamins B and C and mineral salts. It also has higher anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties than lighter honeys.

Many studies recommend its intake for the prevention of infections and have highlighted its antioxidant properties as it contains very high levels of phenolic acid.
Chestnut honey is also suitable for the treatment of coughs, inflammation of the respiratory tract and sore throat, and also for digestion problems.
