Collection: Casarotto Agricultural Company
The Casarotto Soc. Agricola winery is located in a suggestive rural setting, immersed in the rolling hills north-east of Verona, at the foot of the Lessini mountains, where the vineyards extend as far as the eye can see. Here, every phase of viticulture and wine production is permeated by the passion passed down from generation to generation by the family of winemakers. Their wines embody the experience accumulated over many years, combined with the most modern technologies used in the Casarotto winery.
This tradition has deep roots, dating back to grandfather Luigi, who started winemaking way back in 1945 with the first historic vineyard of the winery. Today, Celeste Casarotto together with her family leads the third generation at the helm of the company. Over the years, new plots of land were acquired and starting from 1990 the winery began bottling the excellences of Soave and Recioto di Soave. Meanwhile, two product lines were developed: one as a basic line and the other as a premium line. Overall, the Casarotto Soc. Agricola winery offers 13 different labels, most of which boast DOC or IGT certification, thus guaranteeing the quality and authenticity of their wines.
The vineyards of the Casarotto Soc. Agricola winery extend over an area of approximately 15 hectares. Most of the vines are cultivated following ancient local traditions, using the Pergola Veronese training system. However, a part of the vineyards has been converted to the Guyot method, which is increasingly widespread. Small but crucial attentions in the vineyard include pruning, thinning of the bunches and careful selection of the grapes during the harvest.
The place of excellence of the Casarotto winery is Campo Sengia, where approximately a third of the vineyards stand on basaltic soils, ideal for varieties such as Garganega and Trebbiano di Soave. These vines benefit from generous sun exposure, thanks to a favorable climate. In the surroundings of San Bonifacio, however, there are red grape varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Corvina and Rondinella, grown on shallow and sandy soils. The vines intended for Durello wine grow on volcanic basalt soils.
Among the excellent wines of the Casarotto winery, the Soave DOC Monte Kleta stands out, a dry white wine with a straw yellow color and a delicate and floral aroma. Its taste balance and a slightly bitter aftertaste make it a unique wine of its kind. The Cabernet Sauvignon Veneto IGT Selvaggio by Casarotto Soc. Agricola, on the other hand, presents itself as a ruby red with intense aromas of red fruits, soft and balanced on the palate, with a pleasantly decisive finish.
